Nutritional Counseling > Pregnancy &
Infertility
Emma has lived with an eating disorder
and depression since her early teens. Now 28 and pregnant
she's afraid of putting on weight, but scared that if she
doesn't her child will suffer. After she finished our 6 week
support group for pregnant women her OB/GYN encouraged her
to seek more individual counseling to ensure the most positive
outcome possible. Being pregnant was a stress on her due to
the eating disorder, but the pregnancy and birth of her child
would give her the opportunity to change her own relationship
to food and how to eat healthy and be at ease with her own
body.
Excess weight on either partner can result
in difficulty conceiving a child or maintaining a pregnancy.
Poor nutrition can harm both mother and baby even among women
who are not overweight. Good nutrition is important for both
partners and can help not only in attaining pregnancy but
also having the healthiest mother and baby possible.
Excess weight and poor eating habits during
pregnancy can be harmful to both the mother and baby because
it puts both at increased risk for complications before and
after birth.
Following a set eating and exercise plan while
pregnant is one of the best ways to gradually gain the proper
amount of weight in the healthiest way possible and to shed
the baby weight after pregnancy.
Being pregnant should be
a wonderful time in the life of every mother-to-be. MinDshape's
expert staff will help you meet the nutritional needs of you
and your baby through all phases of your pregnancy so that
you can enjoy this experience knowing that you are doing all
